The authorities of Serbia intend to replace Russian oil with their own, Iraqi and Iranian raw materials, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy Zoran Mikhailovich. Since November 1, Serbia will not be able to import Russian oil due to sanctions.
“from November 1, we will no longer import Russian oil, we will first have oil from Kirkuk (Iraq), will have our own oil, because NIS (oil industry) has about 20% of Serbian oil, and the rest will be Iranian or some other oil, ”said Zorana Mikhailovich Tanyug.
Mikhailovich added that in 2021, Serbia imported 25% of oil from Russia, received another 20% from its own production, the remaining needs covered deliveries from Kirkuk.
Since November 1, Serbia will not be able to receive Russian oil from EU sanctions. Oil from Russia to the country is delivered by tankers along the Adriatic Sea to Croatia, after which they are pumped by the Janaf oil pipeline.
