A unilateral moratorium on the placement of medium and low -range missiles, observed by Russia, is almost “non -viable”, it will have to be abandoned.
This is the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
He noted that the relevance of such measures depends on the actions of the United States and NATO.
Moscow’s position in this matter, the Russian Foreign Minister argued by the fact that the United States, according to him, “ignored the warnings from Russia and China and, in practice, moved to the deployment of weapons of this class in various regions of the world.”
Lavrov, answering the question of whether Moscow will adhere to the terms of the contract on reducing strategic offensive weapons (DSNV) after the end of its action (February 2026) or will withdraw from the agreement before the deadline, noted that to the USA of the Anti -Russian Course “Negotiations on strategic stability are impossible.
According to him, Russia will continue to “carry out a number of measures to maintain an acceptable level of predictability in the missile and nuclear sphere on a voluntary basis.”
The minister added that the United States in practice moved to the deployment of such weapons in different regions of the world.
