One of the locomotives of building up economic relations of Turkey and Russia is the service sector, the potential of which contributes to the achievement of the purpose of mutual turnover of $ 100 billion.
Deputy General Secretary of the Association of Service Exporters (HİB) of Turkey Uzeyr Yshyk told Anadolu that the export of the service sector is favorably different from other types of economic activity, as it contributes to a direct flow of currency without special customs barriers.
He noted that although the regime of sanctions of Western countries narrowed the framework of opportunities for trading with Russia, the service sector as a whole did not feel the negative impact of restrictions.
YSHYYK recalled that out of 90.3 billion dollars of Turkish exports that took place in 2022, about half had to go to the tourism sector. At the same time, Russia has the greatest potential for the tourism sector.
“The leaders of Turkey and the Russian Federation previously outlined the target of the trade in $ 100 billion. The impetus for this can be the service sector, so it is important to pay special attention to tourism and other industries,” said the deputy head of Hi̇b.
Note that the growth in the export of Turkish services, according to the results of 2022, amounted to 47 percent. Tourism and transport accounted for 86.3 percent of the total exports of $ 90.3 billion.
