The difference from classic chess is that the initial arrangement of figures is determined randomly. Time control at the current tournament was 20 minutes plus 5 seconds for each move made.

According to the results of the one-circle tournament, Shakhriyar Mammadyarov, who was the leader before the last day of the competition, scored 6 points out of 9 possible and took 3rd place. Today, Shahriyar defeated the representative of the United States Lenier Dominges, lost to Russian Peter Svidler and tied with the Armenian Levon Aronyan, who moved to the USA.

In the previous days, Mamedyarov won the American Hikar Nakamura, lost to another representative of the United States Fabiano Caruan, tied with the Frenchman Alireza Firuja, and then won three consecutive people – over another American Wesley SO, Harry Kasparov and Yan Nepomnya, who are now undergoing under FIDE flag.

The first two places were taken by Firuj and Caruan, who scored 6.5 points. In these minutes they play a tie-break.

The prize fund of the current competition is 150 thousand dollars. The winner will receive 37500. Shakhriyar Mammadyarov earned $ 17,500 in the USA.
