Today, in the penultimate day of the tournament of the memory of Vugar Gashimov, the competition in Blitz began.
Participants played seven tours, after which the Hungarian chess player Richard Rapport, who scored in the sum of the parties on Rapid and Blitz 20.5 points, broke out into sole leaders.
On the 2nd place, Azerbaijani grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov, whose account 19 points. Today, Shakhriyar won four victories, played a draw twice and suffered one defeat. He beat two other chess players – Vugar Asadley and Rauf Mamedov, as well as Russian Sergey Karyakin and Richard Rapporta. The only defeat of Mammadyarov suffered from Karuana, which from 18.5 points occupies 3rd place. 18 points scored Sergey Karyakin, located in the 4th position. It is this quartet that will play off tomorrow in the remaining seven tours of prizes, for the separation from the 5th position, which Czech David Navara (11 points) is too large.
Recall, for victory on the results of two parties in Rapid, chess players received 3 points. In the event of a draw rivals to identify the winner played “Armageddon”. For the victory in “Armageddon” there was 2 points. Chess player lossed in Armageddon, received 1 point.
In the Blits, everything is as usual: 1 point for victory, 0.5 – for a draw, 0 – for defeat.
Time control: Rapid – 15 minutes plus 10 seconds for each moved; Blitz – 5 minutes plus 3 seconds; “Armageddon” – 5 minutes by white, 4 minutes from the black plus 3 seconds for each move after the 60th stroke.
