President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the construction of the Tashkent-East Airport, the press service of the head of state reports.
The total area of the airport will be 693 hectares. According to the project, it will have a 4-kilometer runway, modern terminals, hangars and platforms.
The airport will be equipped with modern radio and meteorological equipment of the ICAO III-A class, ensuring take-off and landing in complex weather conditions.
Today, the take-off and landing strip and the VIP-terminal building have been erected here. The president, having examined them, gave instructions for financing the following stages of construction, a revision of the appearance of the air terminal and conditions for taking delegations, the report said. The terms of the airport launch are not reported.
Director of the Department of Uzbekistan Airways, Nodir Khuzhamov said in an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 television channel that the president entrusted “very seriously and critically” revise the project.
“The main goal of this airport is the development of a business aviation in Uzbekistan. We received an order to build another additional business terminal with 150 seats,” he said.
