Sheikh of Emirates threaten sanctions for help of Russian oligarchs

Vice Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansur Ben Zaid Al Nahayan threatens a criminal investigation in the UK for the help of Russian billionaires in the round of sanctions, Moscow Times reports with reference to Middle East Eye.

According to the report, the British Foreign Ministry received from the international criminal cases of Rice Davis and Ben Keit data that Sheikh Mansur plays a “central role” in the stream of money falling under the sanctions in the UAE. In particular, Sheikh helped Roman Abramovich and other unnamed Russian billionaires. Russian billionaires who are under the sanctions of the West for the war in Ukraine “are increasingly turning to the Office of Sheikh Mansur” to conceal their income, lawyers say.

According to them, more than 38 Russian businessmen and officials own the UAE property for more than $ 314 billion.

Earlier, the diplomatic adviser to Sheikh Muhammad ibn Zaida Al Nahayan said that the UAE is conducting “intensive negotiations” with the United States regarding sanctions against Russians. “We are a dollar economy. Therefore, it is important for us to conduct such negotiations,” the adviser explained, calling for Russians to divide into those who are included in the sanctions lists, and those who are not related to war and are looking for a “quiet harbor.”
