The ships of the Russian Navy and China passed through the Strait of Osumi in the south-west of Japan. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Defense of Japan.
Self -defense forces observed the passage of two ships of the Russian Navy and two ships of the Chinese Navy, which sailed east about 40 kilometers from Kusagaki Islands in Kagosima Prefecture. The ships passed through the Strait of Osumi towards the Pacific Ocean, the report said.
State television NHK reported that this is the third case of the joint passage of Russian and Chinese warships through the Exusive Strait. The first case of such a passage of ships was observed in October 2021, the second in September 2022.
It was reported that the Ministry of Defense of Japan is closely monitoring the activities of foreign forces in the region.
