German Chancellor Olaf Sholts discussed the issues of German-American relations with the newly elected President Donald Trump, as well as current geopolitical challenges.
It is noted that the telephone conversation took place on the initiative of the German side. Sholts called the elected president of the United States and congratulated him on the victory in the elections.
During the conversation, Sholts expressed the readiness of the German government to continue close cooperation with the United States.
Chancellor and Trump also agreed to work together to restore peace in Europe.
