Chancellor of Germany Olaf Sholts again criticized the words of the leader of the Palestinian national autonomy of Mahmoud Abbas, who compared Israel’s actions against Palestinians with the Holocaust, writes Deutsche Welle.
“I feel the deepest indignation because of the outrageous statements of the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. It is for us, Germans, any relativization of the Holocaust is unbearable and unacceptable. I condemn any attempts to deny the crimes of the Holocaust,” said Scholz.
Earlier, the Abbas, during a joint press conference with Sholts in Berlin, accused Israel of a multiple Holocaust in relation to the Palestinians, but Scholz did not comment on the words of the Holocaust at a press conference, for which he was sharply criticized by the opposition. Only in the evening, the Chancellor said in an interview with Bild: “It is for us that any relativization of the Holocaust is unbearable and unacceptable for us.”
