After the elections that have passed in Turkey, the European Union intends to use the possibilities for the development of qualitatively new and productive cooperation with Ankara.
This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Sholts following a two -day Summit of EU leaders in Brussels.
According to him, the meeting participants turned to the European Commission and the Supreme Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy to make proposals for the further development of ties with Turkey.
The politician noted that the summit also discussed the problem of Cyprus and issues of the relationship between Ankara and Athens.
According to Chancellor, EU leaders expressed hope for giving a new impulse to the efforts of Cyprus settlement.
