German Chancellor Olaf Sholts, before the start of the Russian special operation, promised President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin that Ukraine will not accept for at least 30 years in NATO. This became known about Die Welt.
According to the publication, Scholz assured Putin that Ukraine will not occur in NATO in the next 30 years. Presumably, this was during the visit of the Chancellor to Moscow in mid -February.
The leader of the German government also told the Russian president that the North Atlantic Alliance never posed a threat to Moscow. Die Welt also cites the recent words of Sholts, who stated that he would not stop the dialogue with Putin.
