Ukraine, Western Balkans, Moldova and Georgia should be part of the European Union. This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Sholts, reports Reuters.
In his opinion, Germany remains a committed idea of expanding the European Union. A new wave of extension should go east and southeast.
The Chancellor admits that when new countries joined the Union between Member States, differences will increase. To smooth out this, Olaf Sholts proposed changing the principle of decision -making. For example, a mandatory requirement of consensus must be replaced with a simple majority voting.
