In Shush, the closing ceremony of the international chess tournament Shusha Chess 2022 was held. The tournament started on September 21 and was held in two categories – among men and women. In each category, 10 chess players competed in Rapid and Blit.
Among men, Shahriyar Mammadyarov won, who scored 26 points, and among women the victory went to Mary Arabidze, a Georgian chess player who took first place with 24 points.
The tournament was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, the Chess Federation of Azerbaijan and the Office of the State Reserve of the city of Shusha. The main sponsor of the event was SOCAR, ABV and Azərxalça Bank also supported the organization.
