The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrei Sibiga said that Europe should consolidate efforts to protect its principles and strengthen its own self -sufficiency. He said about this during an online study at a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the EU, dedicated to the third anniversary of full-scale Russian aggression.
“With any scenario, we must strengthen our self -sufficiency. This is our goal in Ukraine. And this should be the goal of all of Europe,” the minister emphasized.
Sibiga presented a list of specific steps that will help the EU now strengthen the safety of the region. Among them is the transition from freezing to confiscation of Russian assets, using 300 billion dollars of frozen funds for the purchase of European and American weapons for the Ukrainian army, as well as unlocking the Fund for Assistance to Ukraine as part of the European Fund of the World.
The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also emphasized the need to build up European investments in the Ukrainian defense industry.
“Each euro invested in Ukrainian weapons today is an investment in the world in Europe for decades for decades. The defense forces of Ukraine is the largest land army on the continent. With any scenario, they will become a force that will protect your homes from the war. We Ready to contribute to the new power of Europe, ”he said.
Among the urgent military needs of Ukraine, Sibiga called additional air defense systems and ammunition for them, armored vehicles, artillery, engineering equipment, electronic warfare products and long -range weapons.
At the end, the minister expressed gratitude to the European allies for the support of Ukraine and emphasized that the consolidation of the efforts of the EU and Ukraine today is the key to sustainable security and the world in Europe in the future.
