Silk Way Wayst Airlines orders GE Aerospace engines to strengthen fleet

Silk Way Way Wayst Airlines signed an agreement with GE Aerospace for the supply of 16 GE9X and GE90 engines for an updated park of long -range Boeing aircraft. New engines, which are the most powerful models in the world, will contribute to the achievement of the goals of sustainable development of the Azerbaijani cargo company by reducing fuel consumption.

earlier Silk Way Way Way Airlines announced the purchase of two Boeing 777-8F aircraft, which will be equipped with GE9X engines, and GE90 engines for five Boeing 777F aircraft, which were ordered back in April 2021. In general, the order consists of five GE9X engines and eleven GE90 engines, which in turn will contribute to the modernization of the cargo fleet.

GE9X is the most powerful aviation engine in history and the quietest model ever produced by GE. It will ensure a decrease in fuel consumption to ten percent compared to GE90-115B, and, like all GE-GE9X and GE90 engines, are compatible with any environmentally approved aviation fuel. Thus, the new engines will not only increase the operating indicators of SILK WAS WAST AIRLINES, but will also contribute to the implementation of its strategy for increasing the stability of freight air transportation.

During the signing ceremony, Silk Way Group President Zaur Akhundov, noted the importance of relationships with GE Aerospace, saying: “We are glad to continue our long -term successful cooperation with GE Aerospace. Signing this agreement will marked the strengthening of our relationship. Thanks to this Silk Way West Airlines It will confidently move to a stable future with a more effective fleet that meets the highest standards for noise and emissions. We believe that expanding partnership will help to realize our long -term strategy for sustainable development, as well as fulfill our environmental protection obligations, and will contribute to improving services, rendered to our valuable customers. “

“The GE9X engine offers a combination of performance and fuel economy, which has no equal in its class,” said Katie McCenzie, president and chief executive director of the commercial engines unit in GE Aerospace. “We are proud of the strengthening of our relations with Silk Way Way Way Airlines, since they continue to modernize their fleet for freight transportation.”
