The Security Service of the Russian Channel RT had to call sappers because of the parcel, which was intended for Margarita Simonyan. This was reported by the Baza Telegram channel.
According to the telegram channel, on February 7, the parcel came to the name of Simonyan, which was taken in the post office and brought to the editor. The publication specified that the head of the security service asked if the chief editor of the RT was waiting for the parcel, to which she answered negatively.
After that, the police, dog handlers and sapper were called to the editorial office, the corresponding information was transferred to the UK and the on -duty part of the FSB, noted in Baza.
In the telegram channel, they added that the dog did not find anything suspicious in the package, and after opening inside they found two books with the signature and letter of the author Edward Melnikov. Baza said that the writer heard Simonyan’s speech, where she said that she had no books on history, so he decided to send her books of her own authorship “Russia between Christ and Satan” and “On Orthodoxy for the Intelligentsia”.
