The cost of projects implemented by construction companies in Turkey abroad since 1972 is estimated at $ 482 billion.
As Anadolo reports with reference to the data of the Ministry of Education of Turkey, the contract sector from 1972 to the end of July 2023 implemented 11,768 projects in 134 countries.
According to the Ministry of Trade, in January-July of this year, the Turkish contract sector implemented 120 projects. The cost of projects carried out during this period amounted to 8 billion 933 million 299 thousand dollars. The average cost of implemented projects for the first 7 months of the year amounted to $ 74.4 million.
Russia since 1972 accounted for 20.3 percent of projects implemented by Turkish construction companies abroad. To date, projects in the amount of $ 97.9 billion have been implemented in this country.
Further followed by Turkmenistan with a share of 10.6 percent. The cost of implemented projects in this country is estimated at $ 50.8 billion.
Iraq is in third place with a share of 6.9 percent. The cost of implemented projects in this country is estimated at $ 33.2 billion. Further follow Libya and Kazakhstan. The cost of implemented projects in these countries is estimated at 30.2 billion and $ 27.9 billion, respectively.
The target market of the Turkish contract sector also covers Saudi Arabia. This country accounts for 5.2 percent, and the cost of projects is estimated at $ 25.1 billion.
In Qatar for the reporting period, projects were implemented in the amount of $ 19.9 billion, and $ 12.5 billion in the United Arab Emirates.
The largest number of projects implemented by the Turkish contracting sector are recorded in housing construction – 13.8 percent. The projects in the framework of the construction of roads, tunnels and bridges account for 13.6 percent, and energy projects – 8.5 percent.
