Slovakia handed over to Ukraine four Mi-17 helicopters and one Mi-2 helicopter, as well as ammunition for the Grad Ractive Slender Rocket system. This was stated by Minister of Defense Yaroslav Nadi, writes Aktuality.
According to the minister, helicopters are already in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“This assistance to Ukraine, like all previous deliveries, will be compensated by Slovakia from the European Fund of the World, which is a strong definition of the solidarity of the European Union with Ukraine,” he said.
On Wednesday, the head of the Pentagon Lloyd Austin, after a meeting in the Ramstein format in Brussels, said that Slovakia decided to transfer combat helicopters to Ukraine, but did not specify information about deliveries.
He also stated that Canada, Poland and the Netherlands will pass on new units of artillery.
