The head of the clinic of the otorhinolaryngology of the educational and research oncological hospital of Ankara named after Abdurrahman Yurtashan, Dr. Dzhaner Kylych, said that cancer of the head and neck is more often found in men over 50, who smoke and consume alcohol, and early diagnosis saves life.
Kylych told the Anadola agency to the “ANADOLE CONTRACTION FOR AND WASTEN OF RAC and Neck”, which is celebrated in the third week of September in order to increase the awareness of the population. He said that cancer of the head and neck, often arising today, is tumors that affect the face, rotary cavity, nasal region, throat, larynx and nasal cavity.
Speaking about the level of incidence of head and neck cancer in the world, the doctor noted: “According to the World Health Organization, about 700-750 thousand new cases are registered annually. About 450 thousand deaths from cancer are on the head and neck.”

Having emphasized the importance of physical examination of patients with symptoms of non -passing wounds in the oral cavity and on the face, difficult to swallow and hoarse, lasting more than 15 days, Kylych said that asymmetric edema in the face and prolonged edema in the neck are one of the symptoms of cancer .
The doctor explained that the diagnosis of the disease is made on the basis of a physical examination and that there is no need for an additional examination method.
, however, after the patient is diagnosed, radiological ultrasound, tomography, MRI and PET/CT are carried out, and in accordance with this a treatment plan is drawn up. The most important thing for us is a physical examination. Since this disease is more common in patients who smoke and drink alcohol, these tumors are more common in men after 50 years.

The scientist added that they organize various events with the participation of patients, relatives of patients and doctors to draw attention to cancer of the head and neck. He emphasized the importance of early diagnosis.
“Like all oncological diseases, cancer of the head and neck can be called an insidious disease, and if it is not diagnosed at an early stage, you can encounter serious face deformation, loss of organs and death.
