“Azerbaijan has never used a gas question as a political or military pressure tool.” This, speaking at the Baku Energy Forum, said Elshad Nasirov, vice president of Socar for investment and marketing.
According to him, the opening of the “Southern Gas Corridor” made it possible to strengthen the role of Azerbaijan as an exporter of natural gas in the energy market.
“It is currently planned to increase its throughput, as well as increase gas production in the country. In addition, the interest of other countries in the purchase of gas for this corridor is growing,” Nasirov said.
He also emphasized that despite the development of alternative sources of energy, hydrocarbons will still not lose their relevance for 10 years.
