Softened sentences to participants of protest, on which colonels MVD killed

Softened the sentence to three convicts in the case of the murder of two colonels of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan in Ganja on the protest a week later after the attempt on the head of the executive authority Ganja Elmara Veliyev.

According to haqqin.az, the decision was announced in the Supreme Court chaired by Judge Shahin Yusifova.

According to the court order, the accusations against Urfan Mamedov and the Huseynzade of Huseynzade were discontinued at 19 points, including intentional murder, terrorism and the creation of an organized group. The Supreme Court recognized Urfan Mamedov guilty only under Article 307.3 (concealment of a particularly serious crime), and Husseynzade firefly – under articles 220.1 (organization of disorders or participation in them) and 315 (the use of force against the civil service). The Ganja court for grave crimes sentenced them both by 18 years of imprisonment. The Supreme Court reduced the term of imprisonment by Mamedov to 5, Huseynzade – up to 10 years.

Another convicted, Abbas Abbasov, was accused of articles 234.4.3 (the acquisition and storage of drugs in large quantities for sale) and 234.1 (the acquisition, storage of drugs in large quantities for personal consumption without a sales goal) of Azerbaijan. The term of imprisonment was reduced from 9 to 7 years.
