President Somali Hassan Sheikh Mahmud and Prime Minister of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed the Turkish and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the efforts to resolve the conflict between the two countries.

Mahmoud thanked Turkey and President Erdogan for his efforts to resolve the dispute between his country and Ethiopia: “This meeting has put an end to our disputes. Now Ethiopia and Somalia are two neighboring countries.”

Stressing that the African horn is a very sensitive region, Mahmoud said that Ethiopia and Somalia should work together to ensure overall benefit. There are many opportunities for this.

In his speech, Prime Minister Ahmed thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, his government and the Turkish people for their efforts to ensure peace and stability in the African Horn region.
noting that Erdogan came with the initiative and initiated negotiations on reconciliation between Ethiopia and Somalia, Ahmed recalled that in the past sides held meetings at the level of foreign ministers.

Ahmed emphasized that thousands of Ethiopian military gave their lives to ensure the security of the Somali state and protect the country from terrorists.
