President Somali Hassan Sheikh Mahmud expressed his gratitude to Turkey for the help provided to the country.
The relevant statement was made at a meeting of President Mahmud with the Turkish ambassador to Mogadish Ibrahim Mete Yagla, during which the topic of interaction between Turkey and Somali was discussed, the press service of the Somali leader’s administration said.
President Somalia emphasized that close relations were established between Mogadisho and Ankara. “There is a deepening of connections in the fields of development and safety,” said Mahmud.
Relations between the two countries began to gain momentum after the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Somalia in 2011.
