South Australia Plans To Ban Social Networks For Children Under 14 Years Of Age

In South Australia, they plan to prohibit the use of social networks for children under 14 years of age.

According to News.com.au, the former judge of the Supreme Court Robert French prepared a report in which legal issues related to the use of social networks by children are investigated. The report also contains a bill prohibiting the use of social networks for children under 14 years of age.

South Australia Prime Minister Peter Malinauskas said that on the basis of this report it is necessary to prohibit the use of social networks by children under 14 years of age. He noted that social networks are striking a destructive blow to the mental health of the Australians and called on all states to accept this report.

The draft law includes a ban on the use of social networks for children under 14 years of age and fines for companies if children under 14 years of age create accounts on these platforms. Children will need a resolution of parents to use social networks.

It is expected that the bill will first be submitted to the Parliament of South Australia, and then to the parliaments of other states.
