The humanitarian aid of South Korea North Korea in 2024 for the first time since 1995 reached a zero level.
According to Yonhap, the Ministry of Association of South Korea made a statement about this.
The statement notes that in 2024 no program of humanitarian aid of North Korea was implemented by either private or government organizations, and that humanitarian assistance to the North reached the zero level for the first time since 1995.
In 1995, due to heavy rains and floods in North Korea, South Korea first provided this country in the form of rice.
Meanwhile, according to estimates, the number of dead or missing as a result of heavy rains and floods in North Korea in July-August 2024 exceeded 1000 people.
The South Korean Red Cross proposed to send humanitarian aid to the victims of the flood in North Korea. However, the leader of North Korea Kim Jong -un rejected the proposals for help from other countries and international organizations.
