South Korea Will Direct 14 Thousand

South Korea’s police decided to mobilize 14 thousand special forces in the capital of Seoul to prevent possible riots on the day of announcement of the decision on the impeachment of the departed from the post and the arrested president Yun Sok Jew.

The Constitutional Court, consisting of eight judges, completed the proceedings in the case of impeachment related to the introduction of martial law on December 3.

The long -awaited court decision is expected this week.

According to Yonhap, referring to sources in the police, 60 percent of all the forces of quick response in the country will be deployed in Seoul to prevent possible riots after the decision is announced.

It was originally planned to use 12 thousand police officers, however, due to the expected large-scale protests, potential threats to key objects, including the Constitutional Court, it was decided to increase this number to 14 thousand

In addition, the police use special units to combat drones to prevent illegal drone launches near government buildings.

If the court makes a decision in favor of impeachment, in accordance with the Law in South Korea, the presidential election must take place within 60 days.

If the impeachment is rejected, Yoon Sok Jer will remain at his post until 2027.

In January, hundreds of Yun supporters stormed the court building in Seoul in protest against his official arrest.

The National Assembly of South Korea initiated the impeachment procedure, saying that the introduction of martial law was unconstitutional.

January 15, Yun Sok Jer was detained as part of the investigation.

Yun Sok Yel was the first president in the history of South Korea, arrested during the criminal proceedings. After more than a 10-hour interrogation, he was sent to the preliminary report.

On January 19, by the decision of the Western District Court of Seoul, he was officially arrested on charges of inciting to rebellion and abuse of official position.

However, on March 8, by the decision of the Central District Court of Seoul, the politician was released from custody, but the trials associated with the impeachment process and criminal charges continue.
