Space Achievement of Azerbaijan: After half a century, International Congress of Astronautics will be held in Baku

Today, on September 17, a meeting of the Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Rashad Nabiyev with the Delegation of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) was held with a working visit in our country. It is reported by haqqin.az.

At the meeting, Minister Rashad Nabiyev emphasized that, thanks to successful satellite projects, initiated by President Ilham Aliyev and implemented under his leadership, independent Azerbaijan became a member of the world cosmic family. That is why, he stressed, an important event as the International Congress of Astronautics after 50 years – in 2023 it will be held again in Baku.

Along with Azerbaijan, Congress will provide the opportunity to other countries, including non-IAF members, more closely integrated into the global space industry.

The President of the International Astronautical Federation Pascal Erefrond in his speech expressed gratitude to Azercosmos OJSC for efficient and multifaceted cooperation.

“I am confident that the International Congress of Astronautics, which will be held in 2023, will leave a significant trail in the position of Azerbaijan on the space arena and will give the country the impulse to become one of the driving forces of the world space industry,” said the president of the Federation.

In the framework of the Azerkosmos and IAF meeting, the official ceremony of signing an agreement in Baku in 2023 of the International Congress of Astronautics took place.

After Pascal Ehrenfrond and Rashad Nabiyev put their signatures under the Astronaut Congress Agreement in the capital of Azerbaijan, a briefing was held, on which members of the IAF delegation responded to questions of journalists.
