Spanish Hospitals Are Full Of Flu Flash

In Spain hospitals, excessive workload is observed due to the increased flu cases from the beginning of the year.

Trade Unions of health workers report that hospitals in 12 of 17 autonomous communities of Spain are full of flu epidemic, and also complain about the lack of personnel and beds.

Meanwhile, the Spanish media reported that in many hospitals, mainly in Madrid, Catalonia and Valencia, patients undergo treatment in corridors due to the overcrowding of medical institutions. In addition, cases are fixed when the waiting time in emergency departments reached up to 65 hours.

Representatives of the Spanish Ministry of Health notes that the number of people who have passed the vaccination from influenza decreased by about 50 percent compared to previous years, which, according to them, has become one of the important factors in the growth of the number of cases of this disease.

Experts, in turn, claim that since the beginning of January, the number of cases of diseases of the respiratory tract and influenza has increased by 2-3 times.

Experts also expect a further increase in the number of cases of influenza in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, in some hospitals, the wearing of masks has become mandatory, as in the period of Covid-19.
