Azerbaijan’s parliament considers the Asian parliamentary Assembly (APA) as an important platform designed to intensify inter -parliamentary dialogue.
This was said by the speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan (parliament) Sakhib Gafarov at the 14th plenary session of Apa.
According to her, the activity of the structure can be even more improved, in particular, due to the increase in the efficiency of the activities of its bodies regulated by the Charter of the APA, and the creation of new mechanisms in the work.
Gafarova expressed confidence that the development of the institutional potential of the organization will contribute to the further strengthening of cooperation.
Chairman of the House of Representatives of Madzhlisi Olya Tajikistan Makhmadtoir Zokirzoda at a plenary session, APA noted that Tajikistan supports mutual cooperation for joint sustainable development.
According to him, developing the transport and transit potential of the region, one should not lose sight of the development of the energy sector, including green energy. He also emphasized the need to pay attention to the adoption of laws and decisions in order to expand regional trade and noted the importance of coordination of work to strengthen peace and stability.
“I believe that today’s event will be an important step towards the further strengthening of inter -parliamentary ties,” Zokirzoda said.
The Chairman of the Council of Shura Oman Khalid Ibn Hilal Nassr al-Muavali, in turn, expressed confidence that Azerbaijan will make a significant contribution to the achievement of the desired goals during the chairmanship.
He noted that today’s plenary session is held in order to strengthen regional cooperation in Asia.
“We must be an example for other countries, strengthening regional cooperation in Asia, and try to make these ties contribute to the well -being of our peoples,” the chairman of the Shura Council emphasized.
Speaking at the APA session, Deputy Chairman of the Senate Oliy Mazhlis Uzbekistan Sodik Safoev said that Uzbekistan is always ready to support this activity.
“I believe that the Asian parliamentary Assembly, chaired by Azerbaijan, will achieve great success,” he said.
Safoev added that today in all regions of the world extremely alarming and important events take place and a great responsibility falls on representatives of the parliament – to respond to these events.
