About this, the chairman of the Great State Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia Gombozhan Zandanshatar said during a meeting with Hungarian President Tamash Shuyok, Montsame reports.
The meeting took place as part of the official visit of the speaker of the Mongol parliament to Hungary at the invitation of the Chairman of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Hungary Laszlo Cogre.
“Diplomatic relations between our two countries were established on April 28, 1950, and we have been working closely for a long time,” Zandanshatar noted.
He thanked the Hungarian government for the gratuitous transfer of medical equipment that was needed by Mongolia to overcome difficult times of the pandemic.
Zandanshatar also announced the decision to start the construction of the Baydrag hydroelectric power station, which has become a symbol of cooperation between the two countries.
In turn, Shuyok expressed satisfaction with the active development of Hungarian-Mongol relations and cooperation in recent years as a result of the efforts of both sides and emphasized that he attaches great importance to inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Zandanshatar became the first high -ranking foreign guest adopted by the newly elected President of the Hungarian Republic.

The politician expressed confidence that the mutual visits of the heads of the legislative organs of the two countries will give an important impulse to maintain the frequency of mutual understanding and dialogue at a high level between Mongolia and Hungary.
Zandanshatar also said that Mongolia considers Hungary an important partner in Eastern Europe and one of the priority goals of Ulan Bator’s foreign policy is the expansion and enrichment of relations and cooperation with Budapest in all areas.
