The main task of the parliamentary assembly of the Turkic states (Turkpa) is to bring new bridges of friendship between Turkic -speaking countries, the contribution to the rapprochement and solidarity of our peoples. This was stated by the speaker of the Turkish parliament Mustaf Schentop, speaking at the XII meeting of the Council of Turkp on Friday in Ankara.
According to him, the very formation of the Turkp has become a “source of light” on the path of a joint future Turkic world. “It took many years to achieve today’s result. A long way has been traveled. At the same time, we are determined to achieve even greater achievements in a longer time,” said the speaker, recalling that in the 2024th year the 15th anniversary of the foundation of the organization will be fulfilled.
Schentop noted that the Turkp-member countries are obliged to be strong, otherwise their fate will be performed by other forces trying to ensure global control. “The XXI century in many respects is a period of serious cataclysms and challenges, so the Turkic -speaking states should be on the front line in many areas: from education and science to production,” the speaker of the Turkish parliament emphasized.
Schentop further stated that the current global system does not meet the challenges of modernity, and humanity needs a more fair device, including in the fields of energy and food.
He expressed confidence that parliamentary diplomacy, along with classical diplomacy, can help resolve problems.
