Expert from the projects of the Soros Foundation, former adviser to the Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilitsa Alexander Mustyatsa was appointed to the post of head of the information and security service of the republic. The candidacy of Mustyats was approved by parliament at a meeting on Thursday, which was broadcast on its website the press service of the parliament.
“The draft decision on the appointment of the head of the information and security service of the Republic of Moldova, Alexander Mustyats, was approved by the votes of 54 deputies [out of 101],” said the chairman of the legislative body Igor Groma.
The Chairman of the Law Commission of the Parliament Olesya Stamata earlier during the meeting announced the nomination of Mustyats. “Muststets is appointed to the post of head of the information and security service of the Republic of Moldova for a period of five years,” I read the draft decision to Stamate.
Answering the questions of the deputies, Mustai confirmed that he had never worked in power structures, and was interested in the security area as part of research.
Muststets’s candidacy was offered to this position by President of Moldova Maya Sandu. Mustyatse is 34 years old, since 2021, Mustyats was an adviser to the Prime Minister of Moldova on Corruption, from 2013 to 2020 he worked in projects funded by the Soros Foundation, before that in the NATO information center in Chisinau.
