Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia, Karen Donfried, said that Russia recognizes the presence of influence and interests in the South Caucasus, but do not consider Moscow to be a “main arbitrator” when resolving the situation between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
She explained that both Baku and Yerevan asked Washington to participate in this process.
