State Department Confirmed Resignation Of US Ambassador In Ukraine

US Ambassador to Kyiv Bridget Brink resigned and returns to Washington.

This was announced at a briefing in the American capital by the official representative of the US State Department Tammy Bruce.

The diplomat emphasized that the head of the diplomatic mission resigned after “held this position within 3 years of the conflict.”

“She showed herself perfectly, and we wish her all the best,” the representative of the State Department emphasized.

The diplomat did not go into the details of the resignation of the ambassador. Bruce stated that the United States will continue to focus on efforts to stop the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

Another US citizen is returned from the Russian Federation as a result of exchange

The press secretary of the State Department Bruce said that Ksenia Karelina, a US citizen of Russian origin, detained in Russia, will soon return to his country as a result of the exchange of prisoners.

Karelina “was detained in Russia for more than a year” and will soon reunite with his loved ones, Bruce noted.

She added that in the USA they “do not forget” about the citizen Stephen Hubbard, who is still in custody in Russia.

“President Trump and Secretary of State Rubio will continue to seek the liberation of all unjustly detained Americans,” the representative of the diplomatic mission assured.
