North Korea provided Russia’s assistance, obviously, at the request of Russia, sending it through third countries, the US State Department said.
“At the end of last year, we published information on the provision of DPRK assistance in the field of security, in particular, the Vagner group, – said the representative of the State Department of Ned Price.
“The fact is that due to sanctions, due to export control measures that introduced the United States and dozens of countries against Moscow, the Kremlin was forced to look for non-traditional security partners-such countries as Iran, like the DPRK” – added Price.
According to him, attempts to integrate this assistance in some cases caused problems for Russia.
“That is why Ukrainians were able to demonstrate their effectiveness on the battlefield,” said Price. “They are extremely effectively using weapons and materials that the United States and our partners in the world supply them. We have seen evidence of this success and effectiveness in recent days” .
