State Duma and the Council of the Federation of the Russian Federation will have to make a number of “emergency and extraordinary” decisions after the Address of President Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly, said the deputy chairman of the Lower Chamber of Defense Yuri Schvytkin to the Rosia media.
“A number of decisions that we will have at a meeting of the State Duma and the Federation Council, as far as I know, will proceed from the President’s message. To say that some will be emergency, extraordinary issues,” said the Russian deputy.
According to him, the topic of “social security of military personnel” will also be discussed at the meeting.
Putin will turn to the Federal Assembly on February 21, on the eve of the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine. The next day, the State Duma and the Council will gather to discuss the message.
Earlier, the Kremlin said that the theme of Putin’s message will be the “current situation”, including in the economy and the social sphere. The President will talk about the war in Ukraine, and the event may invite participants in the hostilities, said the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
