State Duma Ratified Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Of Russian Federation With Iran

Deputies of the State Duma (the lower house of the Federal Assembly (Parliament) of the Russian Federation at the plenary meeting unanimously adopted the law on ratification of the contract on a comprehensive strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to the State Duma website, the document was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The contract was signed on January 17, 2025 during the visit of President Iran Masudshkin to Moscow.

According to the document, the parties strive for the deepening and expanding of relations in all areas of mutual interest, strengthen cooperation in the field of security and defense, close coordination of activity at the regional and global levels, which corresponds to a long -term, comprehensive and strategic partnership.

Earlier, the State Duma chairman Vyacheslav Volodin noted that “the contract signed by the presidents of Russia and Iran will strengthen the relations of the two countries both in terms of bilateral cooperation and coordination of actions on international issues.”

Vyacheslav Volodin also reminded that the document separately pays attention to the strengthening of inter -parliamentary cooperation, including within the framework of international parliamentary organizations and the cooperation commission between the State Duma and the Assembly of the Islamic Council of Iran.
