In December, the second Steam Azerbaijan Festival will be held in Baku. About the fact that the festival surprises this year, how it will differ from last year, and what influence it will have on the development of Azerbaijani youth, said in an interview with Haqqqın.az the head of the Steam project in Azerbaijan.
– In December, the second Steam Azerbaijan Festival will be held. Tell us what the festival will surprise this year?
– Steam Azerbaijan Festival (SAF) was organized in 2021 in Azerbaijan for the first time at the level of our country. Unlike last year, this year the festival is organized at the international level and radically different from SAF 2021 in content. Steam Azerbaijan Festival 2022 will be held in the format of the competition in 10 nominations, as well as in the format of an exhibition of innovative projects in 1 nomination.
new categories were added to the SAF-2022. For groups of middle and high school, these are categories on the topic of robotics, and for participants from primary schools, these are the categories of “world of imagination” and “Robokida”. For schoolchildren, the nomination “Mechatronika” was added, and for high school students and students – “Hakaton”.
It is also necessary to emphasize that, unlike SAF-2021, SAF-2022, it will be open to participants in all age categories-not only at the level of general education, but also at the level of higher education.
It is safe to say that the SAF-2022 will surprise participants in different age groups with an interesting and cheerful competitive atmosphere, a diverse program and new acquaintances.
– What benefit will this festival of Azerbaijani youth bring?
– this festival is unambiguous not only interesting, but also very useful, as it will allow students to increase their knowledge of innovative technologies and improve their skills due to their application at a higher level. The holding of this festival will also help promote Azerbaijan to the international level in the direction of science and innovation and will help create a new base of talented students and teachers.
Along with this, the organization of such events plays an important role in the education of young people with new entrepreneurial thinking who can work in the team.
Taking into account the international status of the competition this year, we can also note that this will allow young people to get acquainted and exchange experience with other countries in this area.
– Who can take part in SAF and what are your expectations from Azerbaijani students?
– both domestic and foreign teams at the level of primary, secondary and higher education in accordance with the rules of the category can take part in SAF-2022. We hope that Azerbaijani students will show enthusiasm and determination for victory. Also, that this festival will be a starting point for participation and victory in international competitions in this area and in the future, thanks to acquired knowledge and skills, talented, young startupians and entrepreneurs who will contribute to the development of the economy of their country.
