NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said: “Russia’s attempts to intimidate us the opposite result,
NATO members strengthen the support of Ukraine. “
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Stoltenberg held a press conference as part of the NATO summit.
NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg said that Ukraine will support NATO membership, which has entered the “irreversible” path.
Having emphasized that Ukraine has the right to self -defense in accordance with international law, Stoltenberg said: “NATO allies also have the right to support Ukraine’s right to self -defense without getting involved in conflict.”
Stoltenberg noted that in the framework of the right to self-defense, Ukraine has the right to strike on the military targets of the “aggressor-Russia”.
According to Stoltenberg, EU member countries weakened restrictions on the use of weapons sent to Ukraine, which opened up the path to striking on military facilities in Russia.
Stoltenberg noted that Russia is trying to intimidate NATO members with various initiatives because of their support for Ukraine: “Russia’s efforts to intimidate us are counterproductive. On the contrary, NATO members strengthen their support.”

The President of Ukraine Zelensky, in turn, called on countries that supply weapons for victory, to remove “all restrictions”.
“Russia will occupy our land, Russia wants to take our lives,” Zelensky said, adding that Moscow, in fact, wants to show other countries what it is capable of.
“We must maintain unity with all our partners. We should not allow Russia to normalize aggressive wars.”
Having stated that Ukraine has achieved specific successes within the framework of the NATO summit, Zelensky noted that these decisions are of great importance for the Ukrainian people and their children.
Zelensky added that today, together with the Member States, the Ukrainian Charter will be signed. According to him, this is important for the Architecture of Ukraine.
The president noted that Ukraine is getting closer to membership in NATO and will take all the necessary steps to become its member.
as part of the NATO summit, a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council was held at the Leaders’ level with the participation of the President of Zelensky.
Speaking with a brief speech at the beginning of the meeting, the Secretary General of NATO Stoltenberg said: “We are building a foundation for the victory of Ukraine.”
The Secretary General recalled that they made a very comprehensive assistance package for Ukraine, and today additional decisions will be made.
He said that these decisions will clearly demonstrate NATO support and at the same time confirm that the future of Ukraine is in NATO.
