NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg warned that in case of victory in the war in Ukraine, Russia could attack other countries.
“support of Ukraine is an investment in our own security,” said the Secretary General.
Stoltenberg made a press statement after a meeting with the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fitzo at the NATO headquarters.
He noted that the leaders of the European Union (EU) today will discuss the beginning of negotiations with Ukraine on NATO membership and additional financial support of Ukraine:
“There is a real risk that (Russian President) Putin will not stop if it wins in Ukraine. Our support for Ukraine is not dictated by charity work. This is investment in our own safety. The only way to achieve fair and strong settlement is to convince President Putin of President of The fact that he cannot defeat the battlefield. And the only way to force Putin President to understand that he does not win the battlefield is to continue to support Ukraine. “
Currently, EU leaders exchange views in Brussels at a meeting of Ukraine.
At today’s press conference, Putin also stated that his goals in Ukraine have not changed.
