According to the Haqqin.az correspondent, the incident occurred on May 28 this year in the village of Mardakeyan, Khazarsky district of Baku. Namik Rasulov hit his wife Fargan Rasulov with a knife on the basis of a family conflict. He later tried to commit suicide. Both managed to save. Rasulov was charged under article 29, 120.1 (attempted murder) of the Criminal Code.
The accused Namik Rasulov found himself guilty for the charges against him. In his testimony, he said that he met Fargana in 2004, when they worked together in the store. The spouses have two children. They lived together. Cooling in the relationship between the spouses, according to the man, occurred in 2020, after he began to communicate with a woman in WhatsApp. Fargana, learning about this, left the house and filed for divorce.
The man, recognizing his mistake, asked his wife forgiveness. After several persistent requests of Namik, the woman returned home with children, but continued to insist on divorce: “My wife’s desire put me in an awkward position. I am a family man, I love her children and wife very much. On the day of the incident, I again asked her to change his mind, take a divorce statement back, but Fargana was adamant. “
The stubbornness of his wife angered Rasulov, and he, in his own words, in a state of affect, hit her several times with a knife. The woman ran out into the staircase and began to call for help. Rasulov realized what he had done, and began to beat himself with a knife, intending to take his accounts with life.
The victim Fargan Rasulova in her testimony said that she officially broke up with her husband: “Namik was a family man, loved his family very much. But I could not forgive him. On the day of the incident, we had a fight. Namik hit me with a knife, I fell. I fell. I fell. I fell. I saw how he stabbed himself with a knife, asked to stop, not to leave children without his father. I somehow got up, took a knife from his hands. Namig was afraid to lose me. He had a psychological shock before the incident. He was not going to kill me. Now now. We have reconciled. I have no complaints or requirements for Namik. I ask the court to bear him a soft sentence. “
The court decided to sentence Namik Rasulov by 7 years 10 months and 15 days in prison. He was arrested in the courtroom.
