Strengthening Of Kazakh-Greek Cooperation Was Discussed In Baku

The President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev met with the Prime Minister of Greece Kiriakos Mitsikitisis.

According to the press service of the Kazakh leader, the meeting of Tokayev with the Greek prime minister took place on the fields of the conference of the parties to the UN Framular Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku.

Greece is a reliable partner of Kazakhstan in the European Union, Athens are included in the five largest trading partners of Astana among the EU countries, ”Tokaev emphasized.

In turn, Kiriakos Mitsikitis noted a huge potential for strengthening Kazakh-Greek cooperation and expressed readiness to expand interaction throughout the spectrum of a bilateral agenda.

During the meeting, the parties confirmed the commitment to strengthening trade, economic, investment and cultural and humanitarian ties, and also emphasized the importance of diversification of mutual trade. An exchange of views on the development of energy, decarbonization of the economy took place.

The meeting participants have reached an agreement to maintain an active political dialogue. The head of the Greece government accepted the invitation of Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev to make a visit to Kazakhstan.

In Baku on November 11-22, the 29th conference of the participants of the UN Framular Convention on Climate Change (SOR-29).
