Sudan: Governor of state of West Darfur was killed

In Sudan, the Governor of the state of West Darfur Hamis Abdulla Abbeker was killed in Sudan.

The statement of the army of Sudan on this subject says:

“The Armed Forces in the most decisively condemn the treacherous actions of the militias of rapid reaction forces (SBR) who abducted and killed the Governor of the state of the West Darfur Hamis Abbeker.”

The statement states that the murdered governor was one of the leaders of the Sudanese government, who signed a peace agreement in Jube, signed with armed groups in 2020. It is emphasized that it has nothing to do with the conflict between the army and the “rebellious” SBR.

On social networks, video shots were posted in which members of the SBR lead the governor from his residence in the city of Junein in the state of West Darfur.
