The supply of Akash anti-aircraft missile system (sky), which Armenia acquired from the Indian defense company Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) will begin in the coming months.
According to the Ani news agency, Armenia allocated a budget of more than $ 600 million for the purchase of the Akash anti-aircraft missile system.
According to this information, the supply of missile systems to Armenia will begin in the coming months.
Indian media reports that the Philippines, Brazil and Egypt also want to purchase the Akash anti-aircraft missile systems.
According to Armenian Times published in Armenia, the BDL anti-aircraft missile system is able to destroy missiles, helicopters, fighters and unmanned aerial vehicles at a distance of 4 to 25 kilometers.
Earlier, Armenia acquired from India the Pinak missile systems, the contest anti-tank missile systems, produced according to the Russian patent, an 80-mm howitzer, as well as various weapons and equipment.
In addition, the Indian company Zen Technologies, which produces anti -aircraft systems against unmanned aerial vehicles, plans to open a branch in Armenia.
In September 2023, the Indian company Bharat Forge delivered 6 155 mm howitzers – the first batch as part of the Armenia order for 90 advanced towed artillery systems (ATAGS).
This supply is the first batch of Armenia order in the amount of $ 155.5 million. 6 ATAGS units will be delivered in 2022. The remaining 84 ATAGS will be set for 3 years.
In addition to this order in March 2023, Armenia also ordered a tactical howitzer system on a wheel of 155 mm/39 Marg, developed by the Indian company Kalyani Strategic Systems and designed specifically for use in mountainous areas.

The system developed by the Indian organization of defense research and development (DRDO) is able to neutralize air threats, such as winged, ballistic missiles, air-air-class missiles and aircraft.
Akash battery is equipped with a radar with a passive electronic grille Rajendra 3D and four launchers, each of which contains three missiles.
The system is able to simultaneously track 64 goals and firing 12 of them.
