Supported protests: legend of Iran football was banned to leave country

The best scorer in the history of the Iranian national football team Ali Daei was banned from leaving the country due to support for protests. This is reported by the portal Sport1.

53-year-old Daei confiscated a passport after returning to Iran from Istanbul. The former football player previously supported the protests that began in the country after the death of the young girl Mahsa Amini.

Mass protests in Iran have been going on since mid -September. On September 13, the moral police detained a 22-year-old girl for improper wearing a hijab. According to reports, she was beaten in a police car. According to the authorities, the girl was taken to the police station where she had a heart attack. Amini’s members said that she had no health problems and demanded an investigation.

Daei is not the first football player to support the protests. In the last serdar Azmun, who is now playing for Bayer, he wrote on his Instagram: “Shame on the heads of those who kill people so easily. Eternal love to Iran women.” The former Bavaria footballer Ali Karimi also spoke. “Do not be afraid of strong women. Perhaps the day will come when they will become your only army,” he wrote on Twitter.

Daei was previously the best scorer in the history of national teams. On his account 109 goals in 149 matches. In 2021, this record broke Cristiano Ronaldo.
