Supreme Commissar of UN Human Rights: shocked by news of an armed attack in Prague

The Supreme Commissar of the UN Human Rights Folker Turk said that he was shocked and saddened by the news of an armed attack in the Czech capital of Prague, where 15 people were killed.

“I am shocked and saddened by shooting at Karlov University in Prague, where I had the opportunity to contact students a few weeks ago, I express my sincere condolences and solidarity,” the Turk wrote in social networks X, commenting on the incident at the university.

General Director of the World Health Organization Tedros Adkhan Goebreesus also commented on an attack at the University of Prague.

“My thoughts are now about families in Prague, who today tragically lost their loved ones,” he wrote on the social network x.

The leaders of European countries condemned an armed attack in Prague.

As a result of an armed attack on the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Carls, at least 15 people died in the center of Prague and dozens were injured. Most of them are in a difficult position.

The police said that the incident occurred at 15.00 local time, according to preliminary data, the attacker acted alone and he was neutralized.
