Sweden and Denmark take into account decision of OII on situation of burning of Qur’an

Sweden will take into account the decision adopted at the 18th Extraordinary meeting of the heads of the Foreign Ministry of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OII) on the situation around the desecration of the Holy Book of Muslim Koran.

This was stated by the Foreign Minister of Sweden Tobias Billstrym to the state television channel SVT.

“The OIS decision contains a number of proposals and recommendations. We will carefully study them and continue the important dialogue with the OIS countries. The government holds aside from Islamofobic actions performed by individuals at demonstrations in Sweden. The Ministry of Justice conducts a new analytical study on the law and order”, he said.

On the other hand, Denmark said that they would support a close dialogue with the OIS and member states based on mutual respect.

“We take into account the decision made at a meeting of the OIS. We will maintain a close dialogue with the OIS and member states on the basis of mutual respect. Recently, Denmark condemned the burning of the Holy Koran and studies the possibility of interference in special situations in the framework of freedom of speech”, – wrote Lars Lyokke Rasmussen on Twitter.

The OIS Foreign Minister at a meeting in a video conference format decisively condemned the actions against the Qur’an in Sweden and Denmark.
