Sweden will increase military spending up to 2% of GDP by 2025 and will strengthen military activity on the western coast of the kingdom to control the entrance to the Baltic Sea, said Minister of Defense Peter Hultwest in an interview with Swedish television.
“Control over the entrance to the Baltic Sea is very important. This is a strategic zone, I believe that we should be taken to this zone with special attention,” TASS quoted him.
He noted that the military department expects an increase in funding, which should increase to 2% of the country’s GDP by 2025.
