Sweden police published a report on the course of the leakage investigation on the North Stream-1 and North Stream-2 gas pipelines.
Meduza, citing a report, reports that on October 1-2, the Investigative Group of the Sweden State Security Service (SEPO) with the participation of coastal protection and the military examined the Baltic Sea areas, where leaks on gas pipelines occurred. According to the results of the examination, the report says, we can confidently say that explosions occurred on gas pipelines. SEPO also notes that the version of the sabotage receives more and more confirmations.
At the scene, material evidence was collected for further research. The investigation continues, in particular, SEPO will have to establish whether anyone can be charged with what happened.
Drenches on three threads of these gas pipelines occurred on the night of September 26 near the Danish Island of Bournholm in the Baltic Sea. The EU authorities said that the North Stream was deliberately damaged. Law enforcement agencies suspect that it was a sabotage using divers or submarines. Whether it will be possible to restore the “Northern Stream” is still unknown.
